With the migration to the new library system in January 2025, existing passwords (used with library numbers) are no longer valid. When logging into the OPAC for the first time after the migration, you must create a new password. Please use the "Forgot Password" function for this purpose.How can I get a library account?
If you study, work, or hold guest status at TUM, you automatically receive a library account. You can log in directly using your TUM ID. For borrowing, present your StudentCard [2], PersonalCard [3], or GuestCard [4].
Even after leaving TUM, you can continue to use the library. You simply need to update your library account at one of our branch libraries [5]. You’ll receive a library card and a library number.

You log in with your TUM ID. If you forgot the associated password, go to TUMonline [6] and use the "Reset Password" function there.

How do I find literature on my topic?
The OPAC is suitable as an entry point for thematic searches. Filter functions allow you to narrow down found titles by subject areas and keywords.
For a more comprehensive search strategy, we recommend using our specialized databases. Literature and information are thoroughly indexed in those search tools. Click on the title of the desired item to open the availability display. Use the "Order" button and select your preferred pickup location. We recommend to log into the OPAC before starting your search to have full access to all ordering functions.
Ordering is only possible for items from other branch libraries or closed stacks. If an item is located in open stacks at your preferred branch library, you can take it directly from the shelf and borrow it on-site.How can I access e-media?
You can access our e-media 24/7 from anywhere. Simply click the "Read Online" button and, if prompted, log in with your TUM ID to authenticate as a TUM member.
