FAQ
In principle, anyone currently affiliated with TUM and holding at least post-doc status can become an author or editor with TUM.University Press. Other persons who contribute to the publication do not need to have post-doc status and may also be affiliated with institutions outside of TUM. Decisions on acceptance are made based on well-defined requirements [1] and in consideration of available publishing capacities. We prioritize interdisciplinarity and relevance of the topic as well as the diversity of subjects at TUM. TUM.University Press charges a publishing fee of 500 €. In addition, there are external printing costs as well as potential expenses for other external services such as editing and typesetting. The design of covers and preliminaries follows our layout guidelines for the individual program sections of TUM.University Press. These guidelines are aligned with the corporate design of TUM. Each cover receives a custom cover motif from us in consultation with you. Typesetting and layout of the interior are not handled by the publisher, but we are happy to advise you on this matter. You can submit your publication inquiry via a web form [2]. Please check first whether you meet the acceptance criteria [1] of TUM.University Press. We will get in touch with you and advise you in a detailed discussion on the possibilities of realizing your publication project. There is no general answer to this question, as it depends on many factors: What does the manuscript look like? What external services are required? What are the production times of the printing company? We are happy to discuss this in detail prior to your publication project and draw up a timetable together.Who can publish a book with TUM.University Press?
