Services

The team of TUM.University Press advises and supports you in publishing your book under fair and transparent conditions.

Publishing contract and publishing fee
You grant us only the rights to your publication that are genuinely required for publication. TUM.University Press sees itself as a service provider for TUM members and does not pursue commercial interests. Therefore, we only charge a publishing fee of €500. In addition, there will be printing costs incurred by external printing companies. Before finalizing the contract, we will provide you with a cost estimate that lists the expected printing costs.

Consultation and information material
We are here to provide you with expertise and experience, guide you in selecting the best publication option for your project, and accompany you throughout the entire publication process. We will offer you a layout style guide tailored to the publisher's corporate design and, if necessary, provide you with format templates for the interior layout.

Visibility for your publication
Your book receives an ISBN from TUM.University Press, and we register it in the Directory of Available Books (Verzeichnis Lieferbarer Bücher, VLB) while keeping it in stock at our publishing distribution. This ensures global availability in both physical and online bookstores. Your publication listing in relevant databases and search engines, including VLB, TUM-OPAC, mediaTUM, Gateway Bayern, and the German National Bibliography, ensures broad visibility for your publication within the international research community.

Contribution to Open Access
TUM.University Press and the University Library are committed to providing unrestricted access to scholarly information. With our publication services, we contribute to the promotion of Open Access. In doing so, we align with TUM's Open Access Policy of TUM [3], the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities [4], and the Recommendations of the German Research Foundation (DFG) for the Transformation of Academic Publishing: Towards Open Access [5].
