Researchers at TUM can continue to benefit from numerous open access agreements with publishers in the coming year. The Publish & Read contracts with Elsevier, Springer Nature, Wiley, IEEE, the American Chemical Society (ACS), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and Oxford University Press (OUP) have been extended through 2026. Funding is provided jointly by the TUM Executive Board, the University Library, as well as TUM’s research institutes and schools.
Publish & Read Agreements with More Than 25 Publishers
In addition to these cooperatively funded agreements, the University Library has concluded further Publish & Read contracts for 2026. These include, among others, Taylor & Francis, Sage, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the Institute of Physics (IOP), and Cambridge University Press. In total, more than 25 agreements are in place that allow TUM researchers to publish their articles Open Access without having to pay publication fees themselves.
Open Access Publication Fund
For articles not covered by Publish & Read agreements, TUM researchers may apply for funding through the TUM Open Access Publication Fund. Grants are available for publications in purely Open Access journals that meet the applicable funding conditions.
