Materials to be returned (e.g. books)
Physical books and similar library items are provided to you for loan. Make sure to return them on time.
Loan periods are generally four weeks, with the possibility of renewal. Borrowing conditions are determined by the owning library. If a library imposes shorter loan periods or revokes an already granted renewal, you must return interlibrary loan books ahead of schedule.
If you exceed the loan period, you risk a media reclaim procedure with charges.
Status Display in OPAC
An overview of your interlibrary loan orders and loan periods is available in your OPAC library account. Interlibrary loan books, like books from TUM's collection, are recorded in our library IT system.
Media not subject to return (e.g. articles, papers, e-books)
For articles from journals or books, papers, and e-books, you will receive a download link by e-mail. Loan periods and returns are not applicable in this case.
Status Display in OPAC
An overview of your interlibrary loans, which do not require return, is accessible through specific sub-accounts in your OPAC library account. Links to these sub-accounts can be found on the right side under the Interlibrary Loan: Papers & E-Books box. To access sub-accounts, you must authenticate yourself with your library number and password.
