eduroam provides TUM students and employees with Wi-Fi access on campus. They can also use eduroam hotspots at participating educational and research institutions worldwide. To log in, you need your seven-character TUM ID, e.g., go42tum, followed by @eduroam.mwn.de, as well as your personal password.

Members of LMU, HM, HSWT, and other organizations whose home institutions participate in eduroam can also use the hotspots on the TUM campus. To log in, use the personal user ID provided by your organization.

The eduroam access points at TUM are operated by the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ).

If you do not have access to eduroam, you can use the open BayernWLAN network instead. No registration, password, or login credentials are required. Simply connect your device to the @BayernWLAN network.

BayernWLAN is a public network available to everyone and is also broadcast via the LRZ Wi-Fi access points. It is operated by the Bay­ernW­LAN Zen­trum Strau­bing at the Bavarian Agen­cy for Di­gi­ti­sa­ti­on, High-Speed In­ter­net and Sur­vey­ing.

Individual access points can become heavily congested, particularly at the Branch Library Main Campus. This may result in a slower internet connection.

Here are a few things you can try:

• Briefly disconnect your device from Wi-Fi at your study space and then reconnect. This helps prevent your device from remaining connected to the heavily congested access point near the entrance.
• Use eduroam-a on the less congested 5 GHz network.
• Check the current utilization of access points and move to an area with less network traffic.

A microfilm scanner is available free of charge at the Branch Library Main Campus. You can use it to digitize microfiche and roll film and save the files in TIFF, PDF, or JPG format to a USB storage device. Please make an appointment with our Digitization Team to use the scanner. The team will assist you with operating the device.
