The university library will extend its rage of high-quality scanners in its reading rooms. In the course of the upcoming weeks, new devices will be installed wherever needs are not met yet. In return, all photocopying machines and printers will be removed.
Compared to photocopiers, scanners have many advantages. The most important are:
- Scanning is free-of-charge at the university library.
- No paper, printing cartridges and other materials will be consumed.
- Scanned documents could be saved on USB flash drives and digitally processed and edited.
- Costly misprints and poor copies will belong to the past.
- The risk of damage to books and journal volumes will be reduced.
- Scanners work economically more efficient and more environmental friendly.
