Elsevier is testing a platform for artificial intelligence called Scopus AI within its literature database Scopus. The aim is to generate precise summaries of research topics and suggest further questions. Technical University of Munich will have access to the beta version of this new search technology from 20 November to 15 December 2023.
Scopus AI relies on a Large Language Model (LLM). Unlike other LLMs that search the World Wide Web, the knowledge base of Scopus AI is derived from the metadata within the Scopus database.
Test Scopus AI for your scientific literature searches. You can promt your search query in natural language. The AI
- generates topic summaries based on publications listed in Scopus,
- proposes follow-up questions to the initial query, and
- provides links to original research.
Online-Access to Scopus AI
Members of TUM can access Scopus via eAccess. Please log in using your TUM ID. To start the AI search, navigate to the "Scopus AI Beta" tab directly within the Scopus search interface. Search queries will not be saved and do not contribute to the AI's further development.
