New Corona Rules as of 6 November 2021

FFP2 Masks Obligation at Yellow and Red Alert Levels

Due to the rising infection figures, the Bavarian cabinet decided on 3 November to tighten the Corona measures in Bavaria.

FFP2 masks must be worn when the level yellow on the Bavaria-wide hospital signal light ("Krankenhaus-Ampel") is reached. A surgical face mask is then no longer sufficient.

What does this mean for visiting our branch libraries?

As long as the hospital alert level is green, it is sufficient to wear a surgical mask.
If the hospital alert level is yellow or red, you are required to wear an FFP2 mask.
You are allowed to take off the mask while seated at the assigned study desk.
The 3G rule still applies: Access to all TUM buildings for students, employees and visitors only with proof of testing, vaccination or recovery.

How to work with your research impact

Publishing your research results is part of your everyday academic life. However, which impact do your publications have in your field of research, both disciplinary and interdisciplinary?

Our webinar "Visibility and Impact of Research" on Thursday, 18 November 2021, will deal intensively with this question. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., we will inform and advise you on academic identity management and measuring success through bibliometric indicators.

You will learn how to take a closer look at the visibility of your research and how to update your author profiles in literature databases. You will also gain insight into citation analysis methods and understand how to calculate common bibliometric indicators such as Impact Factor and h-index.

Construction work

The Textbook Collection Main Campus is moving

From 2 – 21 November 2021, the textbook collection will be rearranged within the Branch Library Main Campus. Unfortunately, respective shelves will not be accessible during this time.

How can I access the books anyway?

Please order your requested title in the online catalogue OPAC. Select your preferred check-out library and collect your order after notification.

Will study desks be limited in use?

No, you will be able to reserve study desks in the Branch Library Main Campus as usual. However, the relocation works may cause some noise pollution. Earplugs will be available for all library visitors.
