On 1 October 2017, the Science Center Straubing for Renewable Resources (WZS) became the TUM – Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability and thus became part of the Technical University of Munich in its entirety. The city of Straubing, which has always been regarded as an outstanding school town and was given the title of Science City in 2007, is now becoming a university town.
Our Branch Library Renewable Resources in Straubing had a special position within the University Library with regard to its function to provide literature not only to TUM members but also to members of the University of Applied Science Weihenstephan-Triesdorf, the University of Regensburg, the University of Applied Sciences Deggendorf, the University of Applied Sciences Regensburg and the University of Applied Sciences Landshut. From 1 October 2017, students, lecturers and researchers of the Campus Straubing belong to the TUM, as members or guests.
The increasing number of students and the expansion of our university's fourth campus have further consequences for the local information supply. The university library needs more funds for literature and its provision, the branch library requires significantly more workspace for students.
We are looking forward to the TUM – Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability!
