Detail inspiration - Architectural projects available online

In the new database Detail inspiration you will find more than 5,000 project documentations from the architecture magazine "Detail" (starting with issue 1/1961).

Search functions and filter options by main keywords, such as building type, material, year of construction or DETAIL issue topic support you in your search for creative building solutions. Project descriptions with reference photos, drawings and technical information are available as PDF downloads.

Online Access
TUM members can access Detail inspiration via eAccess. Please log in with your TUM ID. Alternatively, it is possible to log in at a desktop PC in the TUM-LAN with proxy configuration. External library patrons can access the database at public computers in our branch libraries.

High Energy Physics and Open Access

American Physical Society (APS) becomes a new partner of SCOAP³

Since 2014, TUM has been participating in SCOAP³, an initiative with the task to make articles in the field of high-energy physics accessible to the public in the sense of open access and to pay for author fees.

The American Physical Society (APS) is now also participating in SCOAP³. Articles from the field of high energy physics (HEP), which appear in the three APS journals Physical Review C, Physical Review D and Physical Review Letters from January 2018, are now freely available. This agreement brings the number of journals participating in SCOAP³ to eleven. This means that around 90 % of journal literature in the field of high-energy physics is now open access available. In the first two months of 2018, ten articles involving TUM authors have already been published open access in American Physical Society journals.

Changes to Our Services

Revised Copyright Law

The reformed Copyright Act (UrhG) comes into force on 1 March 2018. The changes also affect some of our services.

Copy delivery via interlibrary loan
You can now order copies of up to 10% of books and copies of entire articles from specialist periodicals or scientific journals via interlibrary loan. Copies from newspapers or general-interest magazines (so-called kiosk magazines) as well as copies for commercial purposes are not possible.

Scans for digital course reserves
With immediate effect, scans of up to 15% of books and scans of entire articles from specialist periodicals or scientific journals can be included in digital course reserves on Moodle. Again, scans from newspapers and general-interest magazines (so-called kiosk magazines) are not possible.
