The TUM University Library has recently expanded its database portfolio in economics and social sciences. We offer now new and enhanced licences for:
WISO
With WISO you have access to a broad spectrum of primarily German resources in the field of economics and social sciences. The TUM's licence covers 420 academic journals, 2,500 e-books and around 8.5 million references.
Business Source Complete
Business Source Premier, a database we had licenced for many years, is now replaced by the more comprehensive Complete version. It is one of the most relevant databases in economics with references and full-texts. The database offers you access to 3,800 journals and over 900 e-books.
Orbis and Zephyr
The two databases provide corporate data and financial figures of more than 180 million companies throughout the world. Orbis contains now – besides up-to-date financial information on companies including banks and insurance companies – also historical data on listed companies. The newly licenced database Zephyr offers details on mergers and acquisitions as well as upcoming transactions.
Update December 2016
The licensing for Zephyr expired at the end of November 2016. The database is currently not available at TUM.
SocINDEX
The newly licenced SocIndex is the most comprehensive full-text sociology database and provides access to roughly 900 academic journals and 850 e-books as well as full-texts of working papers, dissertations and conference proceedings.
Update January 2024
The licensing for SocINDEX expired at the end of 2023. The database is currently not available at TUM.
... and this is how you can explore the service:
TUM members can access WISO, Business Source Complete and SocINDEX via eAccess. Please log in with your TUM ID. Alternatively, it is possible to log in via institutional login (Shibboleth) or at a desktop PC in the TUM-LAN with proxy configuration. External library patrons can access the databases at public computers in our branch libraries.
For licensing reasons Orbis can only be used on-campus in the TUM-LAN with proxy configuration. Access outside the campus via eAccess is not possible.
