Starting in 2024, TUM offers new opportunities to publish your research results in Open Access. There are no personal costs incurred for you as the author.
Publication fees will be covered by TUM. The TUM Board of Management, the University Library, and the TUM Schools have joined to create the financial basis for this, enabling comprehensive Publish & Read agreements with scientific publishers and academic societies.
This means for you as a TUM member: Benefit from Open Access publishing without personal costs, advisory services provided by the Open Access team of the University Library, and online access to 150,000 journals.

TUM's Open Access Strategy
In a joint effort, the TUM Board of Management, the University Library, and the TUM Schools have laid the financial foundation for entering into comprehensive Publish & Read agreements. This ensures that TUM members will have free access to scholarly information, and the majority of papers can be published in Open Access. This is an important step on the road to the Open Access transformation in scientific publishing. The declared goal of the university management is to maximize the rate of Open Access publications at TUM by providing the best possible support to researchers.
