On 15 September 2022, Dr Reiner Kallenborn retired from his position as University Librarian.
Reiner Kallenborn had been working at the University Library since 1991, first as subject librarian for mathematics and computer science, then as head of the User Services Department, and since 2002 as library director.
During his tenure, the expansion of the University Library into a service-oriented and modern information institution was a central concern of his. In particular, the support of digital research infrastructures, the development of a digital book and journal collection, and the expansion of the TUM's branch libraries into attractive studying and working environments for students were at the centre of the library's development.
In addition, Reiner Kallenborn has been involved in national and international library committees and associations for many years.
