dokumenTUM is our scanning service for physical resources of the TUM University Library. We scan academic papers, journal articles, and book chapters. dokumenTUM is free of charge and available to all active TUM members.

Ordering

Use our Online Catalog OPAC to place your dokumenTUM order. Simply log in with your TUM ID and search for the desired title.

How to place your order:

Click on the desired title to open the availability display. If dokumenTUM is available for this item, you will find a button "Order paper/chapter scan".
With a single click, you will be redirected to the SFX service page, which lists various ordering options.
Select the option "Order via dokumenTUM or Interlibrary Loan." Be sure to check the box for "I am entitled to the dokumenTUM delivery service."
In the next step, select your home library.
If necessary, complete the order form with any missing information (e.g., paper title, chapter title, author, page numbers) and submit your order.

Delivery

We scan academic papers, journal articles, and book chapters (up to 10% of the book) for you and send them to you as a PDF via email. Typically, we deliver within 1–3 days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays).

Redirect to Interlibrary Loan
If you order a title that is not available at the TUM University Library, you will automatically be redirected to the interlibrary loan. This service is also free of charge for you at TUM, but delivery may take a bit longer.

dokumenTUM is free of charge and available to all active TUM members (students, staff, and guests with a TUMonline account).

TUM students
TUM employees
TUM guests with a TUMonline account

dokumenTUM is not available to external library users.

What can I order with dokumenTUM?

Scans of academic papers
Scans of journal articles
Scans of up to 10% of a book, e.g., individual chapters
