Terms of Use & Licence Information

  • The EndNote licence is limited to a single user. You may, however use EndNote on up to three different devices.
  • At the end of your studies or your employment at the TUM, you may not use EndNote via the TUM campus licence any longer. You must either uninstall the programme or purchase a single user licence.

By using EndNote, you agree to the Private Policy and EndNote Terms of Use.

Features

EndNote is an internationally widely used reference management programme that offers you several features which enables you to search literature, manage reference and cite correctly in the desired style. The locally installed EndNote programme is complemented by a web version, which allows location-independent working and team work. EndNote has an English language interface and runs on both Windows and MAC OS.

What is EndNote capable of?

  • organising and managing references
  • integrating citation in text processing programmes
  • creating reference lists in over 6000 citation styles
  • searching in library catalogues and databases
  • importing titles from library catalogues and databases
  • synchronising between EndNote Desktop and EndNote Web
  • working in teams

EndNote Web

In addition to the local installation, the reference management programme offers a web version, which you can access from any workplace via internet. Set up your own EndNote web account.

Tips & Tricks

You can further customise your own EndNote installation to meet your needs:

  • Connection files allow you to search in additional catalogues and databases (e.g. Connection file to search Gateway Bayern).
  • Import filters allow you to import bibliographical references from additional catalogues and databases.
  • Output Styles (citation styles) that exceed the installation settings can be downloaded later.
  • Updates are not installed automatically. Please note that you must first uninstall EndNote before installing a newer version.

Instructions for the full-text search

To use the full-text search function, after the installation, add the following OpenURL path in the menu Edit > Preferences under the heading "Find Full Text": http://sfx.bib-bvb.de/sfx_tum.

Find full text articles (available at the TUM)

Go to the Edit menu and choose => Preferences => Find Full Text => „Authenticate with:“
Here you add https://eaccess.tum.edu/login.

If you now choose “Find full text” you will get to the eAccess page of the TUM  where you log in with your TUM email address and your password. Click on “Log in” and on “Continue”.
Please note that you might not find all full texts that are available and that the search will take noticeably longer.
