The TUM Open Access Publishing Fund is celebrating its first birthday! Since its founding, more than 60 TUM researchers benefited from the fund covering their article-processing charges. Take also advantage of this publication funding and publish your research results in freely accessible journals!
So far 66 articles were published with the financial support of the central publishing fund. Additional 51 articles are registered for funding and are currently under peer review at various open access journals. About 20 per cent of sponsored articles were published at PLOS (Public Library of Science), one third at BioMed Central. With those and further publishers the TUM university library has entered into special agreements. This allows you - when submitting a paper - to authenticate yourself as a TUM member. Your article-processing charges will then be covered automatically by the TUM publishing funds - provided you fulfil the eligibility conditions.
The financial resources of the publishing fund are provided by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the TUM Board of Management. For 2015, the DFG already granted new means.
