Opening Hours during the Christmas Holidays

During the holiday season from Christmas thru the Three Kings' Day, our branch libraries have special opening hours. Also, our First Level Hotline will be available on different service hours.

All opening hours are subject to change at short notice due to infection protection measures. We inform you about our available services at https://www.ub.tum.de/en/services-corona.

Learning Spaces in Branch Libraries

New Reservation Procedure as of 01.12.2021

On Wednesday, 1 December 2021, we will change the reservation procedure for study desks. As a TUM member, you will then be able to reserve a place in one of our branch libraries always one day ahead. Longer-term advance bookings and the upper limit for reservations will no longer apply. Reservations already made remain valid.

Unfortunately, in the past many places were reserved prophylactically but often not used. As a result, our Branch Library Main Campus in particular was fully booked for days, but many places remained free on the reservation day. Many students then came to the library at a venture of snatching a place after all. With the new reservation procedure, we hope to defuse the situation.

Reservation rules

Study desks are only available to TUM students and staff.
Your reservation entitlement expires 30 minutes after the start of the reservation shift if you have not taken your seat by then.
Places not taken or reserved will be given away at the circulation desk 30 minutes after the start of the reservation period.

2G rule (vaccinated - recovered)
FFP2 masks mandatory; you can remove the mask while seated at the study desk.
1.5 metres minimum distance to other persons
no access in case of confirmed infections or symptoms of respiratory diseases

Intensified Corona Regulations

2G Rule at Universities: vaccinated – recovered

Sign with 2G rule: vaccinated – recovered

As of 24 November 2021, the 2G rule (vaccinated - recovered) will apply at Bavarian universities and libraries in accordance with the 15th Bavarian Infection Protection Measures Ordinance (BayIfSMV). All library users are obliged to provide a proof that they have been vaccinated or recovered in order to access our branch libraries.

Who is considered vaccinated or recovered under the 2G rule?

Persons fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are asymptomatic persons who are in possession of a vaccination certificate issued to them in the sense of § 2 number 3 of the COVID-19 Protective Measures Exemption Directive (SchAusnahmV - BAnz AT May 8, 2021 V1, German). An overview of all approved vaccines or vaccine combinations can be found on the website of the Paul Ehrlich Institute, the German Institute of Vaccines and Biomedicines.

Persons recovered from COVID-19 are asymptomatic persons who are in possession of a certificate of recovery issued to them in the sense of § 2 number 5 SchAusnahmV (German).
