Legal Information
DIN standards are protected by copyright (see also: DIN Media's Information on the reproduction of DIN Standards). Their use and reproduction is subject to contractual agreements between the TUM University Library and DIN Media.
Terms of Use for TUM Students and Staff
- Reproduction (by downloading, copying, scanning or printing) is permitted only for internal university, non-commercial purposes (science, research and teaching).
- The reproduction of DIN standards for training purposes at the TUM is permitted, but copies must be marked with the TUM stamp and collected after the lecture.
- It is permitted to make DIN standards available in digital course reserves if you mark them with a TUM stamp. To do so, please print them, mark them with the TUM stamp and scan them again for uploading on Moodle.
- Any unauthorised reproduction, disclosure to third parties, or systematic downloading carries a mandatory fine for infringement and is punishable by law.
Terms of Use for External Library Patrons
- External library patrons (non-TUM members) are only allowed to view and consult DIN standards. Full text access is available on library computers at all branch libraries.
- Reproductions – regardless of the method used (e.g. copying, printing, filming, transcribing, scanning, data transfer, etc.) – are not permitted due to licensing. It carries a mandatory fine for infringement and is punishable by law.
- Should you need a DIN Standard in printed form, please contact your local bookseller or DIN Media directly.
