Citing Correctly in Study and Research

Wörterbuchseite mit dem Wort "citation"

Cite it right! But how? No matter whether you are at the beginning of your studies and want to familiarize yourself with the fundamentals or whether you have been experienced in scientific writing and citation for quite some time, but want to remain up-to-date: We support you with a wide range of training and consulting services.

Meticulous handling of sources is a central component of good scientific practice. Optimize your citation skills and benefit from our citation support.

Fundamental resource: TUM Citation Guide
The TUM Citation Guide offers a valuable introduction into the topic. The resource, coordinated with the Ombudsperson's office for good scientific practice, is a comprehensive compendium on fundamental as well as specific citation issues with FAQs, checklists, and recommendations on citation styles. Support in Teaching

Tailored to your needs – for TUM lecturers: We are happy to support you in your teaching activities and teach your students the fundamentals of citation.

Recommend our courses
Send your students to our citation courses and ensure that they are familiar with the fundamentals of citation. Thereby, you can leave it up to the students in which form they want to complete the course – whether as a classroom course, webinar or e-course. Course details

We can issue certificates of participation for all course variants by arrangement. For example, you can make completion of the citation course compulsory when supervising theses. We are happy to advise you: workshop@ub.tum.de

Moodle module
You can also integrate the citation course as an e-learning module into your own Moodle course, optionally with a final e-test. The module is available in German and English. We will be happy to advise you on this: workshop@ub.tum.de

Tailored courses
We also offer all course content on literature research, reference management and citation as embedded formats. We are happy to prepare individual workshops according to your requirements. Please contact you to discuss details: Contact form
