External Library Users
Your library card is valid for one year. Within three years you can have it reactivated at one of our branch libraries. Please bring your ID card or passport with proof of residence in Germany ("Meldebescheinigung".
If you do not use your library account for more than three years, your data will be deleted for data protection reasons. You can apply for a new library card at one of our branch libraries.
TUM Alumni
Your library card is valid indefinitely.
However, if you do not use your library account for more than three years, your data will be deleted for data protection reasons. You can apply for a new library card at one of our branch libraries.
Active TUM Members
As long as you are studying, working, or have guest status at TUM, you can use your StudentCard, PersonalCard, or GuestCard as a library card. No renewal is necessary.
Even after leaving TUM, you can continue to use the library. Simply have your library account converted at one of our branch libraries. You will then receive a library card and a library number.
