Please select where you want to pick up ordered or reserved items:
OPAC and OPACplus have a common search interface.
You automatically receive search results for both databases.
Records in OPAC can be found in the first tab, records in OPACplus can be found in the second tab. You can easily switch back and forth between the two tabs.
What can I find in OPAC?
In the OPAC you will find all books and journals available at the TUM University Library – both printed and electronic. You can order and reserve books, check the borrowing status of items and keep tabs on your loans in your library account.
Individual articles from journals, newspapers or conference proceedings are not listed. OPACplus and databases are available for this purpose.
What can I find in OPACplus?
In OPACplus you will find scientific materials of all kinds, especially articles from journals, newspapers, conference proceedings and much more.
A central index lists the University Library's media collections as comprehensively as possible, including both printed and electronic media. Depending on agreements with publishers and providers, bibliographic metadata, abstracts and electronic full texts are available.
OPACplus is particularly suitable for searching for media that are available as electronic full texts at the University Library.
How do I find information on my topic?
The OPACplus is a good starting point for the thematic search. It is our interdisciplinary research tool for scientific materials of all kinds.
However, for in-depth thematic research we recommend our specialist databases, in which you will find scientific papers, statistics, company data, facts, articles from journals, newspapers, conference proceedings and much more.
For access information and an overview of which databases we offer for your subject area please visit: www.ub.tum.de/en/databases
Check-out Library
Why do I have to select a a check-out library?
This is the only way we know in which branch library we should deliver your requested items. You have to indicate the check-out library of your choice before your search, so that transport times, order options and the status of items are displayed correctly in the OPAC.
Does the selection of the check-out libray limit my search?
Irrespective of the branch library you have chosen as your check-out location, your search will automatically cover the entire TUM Library collection.
Why do I also have to select a check-out library for my library account?
Strictly speaking, this is not really necessary. However, if you start a search directly after looking into your account and order items, they would all be delivered to the default branch. In order to spare you such unnecessary misorders, we always ask for the potential pick-up location. Just to be on the safe side.

And this is how it works...
If you are not a member of the TUM, you can apply for a library card.
And this is how it works...
Why does it make sense to log in before the search?
Only if you are logged in, you can see whether an item is borrowable for your respective user group or not.
Why should I additionally log in with eAccess?
To ensure that all data, including those with restricted access, is available for your search in OPACplus and that you are gained free access for full texts.

I have forgotten my OPAC password. What can I do?
First, please check whether you have spelt your password correctly, especially with regard to upper and lower case. Are you using the wrong password by mistake, e.g. the password that belongs to the TUM ID? Is your TUM StudentCard / PersonalCard already activated for library use?
If this does not help, you can obtain a new one by selecting "Forgot password?" from the login screen of the Online Catalogue OPAC. Enter your library number which you will find on the back of your TUM StudentCard, PersonalCard or library card. You will then receive an automatically regenerated default password to the deposited email address. If any problems occur, please contact our First Level Hotline or ask at the circulation desk in one of our branch libraries.
