Electronic Laboratory Notebook for TUM

Research Documentation with TUM eLabFTW

Two engineers working on a project. One is documenting and the other one is working on a machinery.

TUM eLabFTW is now available as a modern and intuitive electronic lab notebook (ELN) for research documentation at TUM.

TUM eLabFTW offers numerous features to support efficient collaboration among researchers – both within teams and with external partners. Lab notebook entries and resources can be shared and used collaboratively with just a few clicks. Thanks to timestamping and a signing function, the ELN enables legally secure, DFG-compliant documentation. A granular permissions system allows flexible assignment of read and write access.

Your access to TUM eLabFTW

Users in TUM eLabFTW are part of a team, such as a professorship or a Collaborative Research Center (CRC). Individual use is not intended. Therefore, there are two access options:

  • Log in to an existing team:
Select your team to register. Your initial registration needs to be confirmed by the team admin first.

    Team login

  • Request a new team:
To request a new team, please review the team creation requirements and complete the request form.

    Request a team

A support team from the Research Data Services is available to assist users with individual inquiries regarding TUM eLabFTW and offers course sessions.

The ELN eLabFTW is an open-source tool developed by Deltablot. The University Library operates the TUM instance.
