Textbook Collections

On the university sites in Munich, Garching, Weihenstephan and Straubing, the University Library offers central textbook collections with study literature on various subjects.

How to search

Each collection includes frequently used core study literature in multiple copies. The books are freely available on the shelves and ordered according to the TUM classification system. All titles included from our textbook collections are listed in our Online Catalogue.

How to borrow

You can borrow books from the textbook collections on site or order them via the Online Catalogue to another branch library. The loan period is four weeks after which our electronic library system will automatically renew the loan period by four weeks – if no reservation has been placed on the item by another library user. Up to five renewals are possible.

Garching Textbook Collection

The central Garching textbook collection can be found in the Chemistry Branch Library.

The textbook collection includes about 39,000 volumes in the fields of chemistry, physics, computer science, mathematics, and mechanical engineering.

 

Medical Textbook Collection

Study literature on this subject area can be found in the Medicine Branch Library. The textbook collection comprises about 7,000 volumes in the area of medicine.

 

Munich Textbook Collection

The central Munich textbook collection can be found at the Main Campus Branch Library.

The textbook collection comprises some 34,000 volumes in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, and economics.

 

Straubing Textbook Collection

The textbook collection for the study programmes at the Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainabiblity can be found at the Renewable Resources Branch Library.

It comprises more than 1,800 volumes and is constantly being adapted to the growing range of courses on offer.

 

Weihenstephan Textbook Collection

The Weihenstephan textbook collection can be found in the Life Sciences Branch Library.

The textbook collection comprises some 19,000 volumes in the fields of life sciences, agriculture and horticultural sciences, brewing, food technology, food science, forestry, landscape architecture, and landscape design.

 

Sport & Health Sciences Textbook Collection

Study literature on the interdisciplinary subject areas of health, prevention, competitive and popular sports as well as sports education can be found in the Branch Library Sport & Health Sciences. The textbook collection comprises around 3,000 volumes.
